Most in the tactical community have heard of Otis and know of their reputation for quality firearms cleaning products. I was able to try their military deluxe cleaning kit and was really amazed at how versatile it was. A newer product that Otis has come out with is their dry lubricant. It's made for dusty environments where a wet lubricant will attract dust, sand, and other gunk. Not only is it a lubricant but it can also be used as a cleaner and rust inhibitor/moisture displacer.
One thing to note is that you don't want to over do it on this lubricant. I know that a lot of times we tend to drench the bolt of our rifles with oil, which is fine with normal oil, but with this dry lubricant you want just enough to get a light coat on the parts (one drop is enough to cover 1 square inch). The reason for this is because this lubricant is in liquid form and then dries quickly to become a dry lubricant. If you use too much there's the possibility of it working properly. This has not been a problem for me since I've only used enough to lightly coat the parts. After applying the lubricant it only takes about 30 seconds for it to start drying. It dries completely and bonds to the metal within a matter of minutes.
I've used this exclusively on my firearms since receiving it. I've used it on my Glock, AR15, and Remington .22. It's worked fine in these firearms. I have no scientific way of proving it but it seems to work just as well as regular wet lubricants.
I've also used this in a couple application that it wasn't necessarily designed for. One way I've used it is on my hair clippers. Since the wet lubricants that are made for them tend to attract hair. The hair builds up on the clippers causing them to not work quite like they should. With this lubricant that doesn't happen.
I've also used this lubricant on all of my pocket knives. For one it helps in the summer time where humidity is high and your body sweats and tends to rust a pocket knife. The moisture displacing properties of this lubricant help to prevent rust on the blade. The pivot point on a pocket knife always attracts dust and pocket lint with wet lubricants. I find myself blasting the lint out often with either canned air or powder blast and then reapplying a wet lubricant. With the Otis dry lubricant this isn't necessary quite so often, and in fact I haven't had to do this to my knives since I applied the Otis lube.
Another thing to remember with this lubricant when using it to clean your firearms is that you'll want to flush it away with a solvent once the part is cleaned and then reapply a light coat of clean lubricant.
If you're in a dusty environment this lubricant is an excellent choice for your. I also recommend it for anyone that doesn't or isn't able to do regular maintenance on your firearms and has the problem of lint, dust or grime building up on a wet lubricant, this will work for you as well. Firearms carried inside the waistband or in the pocket will tend to build up lint quickly which is why I use this for my concealed carry Glock as well. This lubricant will find it's place for almost anyone in the tactical, law enforcement, or military community.

Wow....that's what I thought when I received the Deluxe Military Elite cleaning kit from Otis. I had to sit back and just look through the kit before even beginning to clean anything. This kit is absolutely awesome. Great for the armorer or the regular civilian who has multiple firearms.
Everything you need to clean a gun is included in this kit. The Otis breach-to-muzzle system ensures that any fouling is pulled out the muzzle instead of deposited in the chamber. The Otis systems use a "flexible rod", which is a aircraft grade cable covered with a plastic or nylon coating. The attachment points at the end can take a half ton of pull...so these aren't coming apart.
One unique thing you'll find in the Otis system are the patches. In this system, which can clean 5.56MM, 7.62MM, 9MM, .45 Caliber, .50 Caliber & 12 Gauge weapons systems, only 2 patch sizes are needed and included in this kit. The patches are of excellent quality and do not leave behind any fibers. When it comes to this system the patch is attached to the flexible rod in such a manner that it comes in complete contact with the bore all the way around. With traditional cleaning rods & patches the patch tends to only come in contact with a portion of the bore and is off-center. This can also cause the rod to scratch the bore/barrel. They also thought of an attachment that aids clean the 12 gauge barrel more thoroughly as well.
All tips and tools are made of forged brass....which means no aluminum oxide build up on the parts.
One really cool thing that I really like about this deluxe system is that you can either take the whole thing with you or you can use the included ballistic nylon pouch that has belt and MOLLE attachments. This allows you to only take what you need with you. There is plenty of room in this pouch to carry patches, flexible rod, CLP, tools, and several different bore brushes, yet, it doesn't take up much room on a vest or pack.
There is also a DVD and instruction manual included with the system which explains the techniques to use. This gives you an idea of how this system differs from other ways of cleaning a firearm.
I figured that I would include a list of all the components of this system to really give an idea of how much you get...

The Victory Sling, made by Blue Force Gear, is an excellent sling at an excellent price. This 2 point sling is the more economical version of Blue Force's Vickers sling, but you'll notice I didn't say cheaper version. This sling is very high quality. The webbing material is very good and seems sturdy enough to last quite some time, and all hardware is high quality (ITW). This sling is also made in the US, Georgia to be exact.
I have always used 3-point slings as a tactical sling and never really gave much thought to a 2-point sling. I always thought the 2 point sling wasn't as versatile as the 3-point and didn't work well as a tactical sling. My mind was changed greatly when I received Blue Force Gear's slings for review. Here are some things I've found advantageous in the 2-point sling...
side of the rifle and can get in the way.

This is a sling I bought (from Tac Gear Store) for my airsoft training rifle. It took a few minutes once I got it to figure it out even after having used a couple different 3 point slings before. It comes with plenty of attachment options, some of which I'm not even sure what they are.
This is your basic 3 point sling that attaches to the butt stock and the forearm of an M16/M4 rifle
and it is made of 1.5 in. nylon strap material. To be honest the cost of this item was under $7 and I didn't expect or require much from it as it was merely a sling to hold a fairly lightweight training rifle. What I got was quite unexpected. Not only was the quality above what I expected it also had a transition release on it to transfer from strong to weak side. This buckle can be undone and the sling tightens around your body making the sling longer so that you can transition to your weak side. The buckle releases very easily unlike some other side release buckles I've seen on gear. This is a feature that I didn't expect on a $7 sling. The sling is only available in black, which was a little disappointing, but a few quick sweeps with the rattle can and it broke up the black outline of the sling a little. This is a great sling for airsoft use, or even real rifle use
if you don't plan on any hard use. You'll be impressed if you get this sling for your airsoft rifle.
