Insanity Workout

Sometimes it's hard to fish through all the hype when it comes to workout videos and programs, which is why many just don't buy them.

Well, a coworker turned me on to the "Insanity" workout, produced by Team Beachbody. He had been using it and seeing good results. So, needing to shed a few pounds and get in a little better shape (other than round) I tried it.

WOW!!! Insanity it is. Now, you could fudge your way through the workout, half ass it, and continue to pause the video. You will, however, see great results if you follow the program and push yourself to the max during the workout.

Traditional interval training involves long periods of moderate workout with short bursts of intense workout. With insanity, it's 3 minutes (or sometimes 4 minutes in the second month) of intense effort followed by a short 30 second break and then back into the workout again.

In the month and a half that I've been doing the workout I've lost 12 pounds and 3 inches on my waist. I've improved my eating habits during this workout which I believe is necessary to get the best results. I haven't followed the included nutritional guide exactly, but have taken a lot of the concepts and changed my diet accordingly.

I highly recommend the Insanity workout....if you have the discipline to push yourself and "dig deeper" the Insanity workout will benefit you. I've lost 12 pounds and 3 inches on my waist in the 60 days, and I plan on losing more by repeating the workout routine for another 60 days.

  5. Insanity is ridiculous. I dropped 2% body fat and gained .5 inch of muscle on my chest. I was surprised with the results as I finished 3 rounds of P90X before this. I now do a P90X / Insanity hybrid workout.
